The department was put in the national spotlight after six officers were charged in the death of Gray, who was fatally injured in police custody in April.

Baltimore police have admitted that Gray was not secured in the van by a seatbelt, against department policy, and that he requested medical attention while being transported in the van but was denied.

An autopsy report leaked to the Baltimore Sun said that Gray died of a high-impact injury as a result of not being secured properly during transport that took 40 minutes and made a previously undisclosed fourth stop while en route to the police station, police revealed on Thursday. Previously, police had said the van made three stops, including one to put him in leg irons and another to pick up different prisoner. So, clearly, the cops were not operating by procedure, policy, and professional conduct, then lied about it to cover up their gross misconduct.

The sign's authenticity has been confirmed by the city's police, which told ABC News in a statement that the department has launched an internal investigation.

"The nature and the posting of wording in one of our transport vehicles is both concerning and unacceptable," Baltimore Police Department Ret. Rashawn Strong said. "We have recently become aware of the wording and have begun an internal investigation to determine all the circumstances surrounding its placement

The six police officers involved in Gray’s arrest have been indicted by a grand jury. All six face charges of reckless endangerment, defined in Maryland law as “engaging in conduct that creates a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to another” and punishable by five years in prison.

Caesar Goodson, driver of the van, faces a charge of second-degree murder. Four of the officers are charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The van carrying Gray had a surveillance camera, according to Rawlings-Blake. The camera was not working at the time of Gray’s injury.

On the third stop, Goodson merely eyeballed the back of the van from the outside, taking no further action. A few minutes later, he made the fourth stop, during which he again checked Gray. This time, he called for assistance. It arrived in the form of Officer Porter. Though he is charged with homicide, this marks Porter’s first appearance in the case: He had no involvement in the arrest, and did not participate in the positioning of Gray prior to Gray’s injury. The prisoner was apparently lying on the floor, complaining about difficulty breathing and moving. He asked for a doctor, but Porter instead helped him up and seated him on the rear compartment’s bench, enabling Goodson to continue the ride.

Seattle good samaritan Daniel Gehlke is going to the mat to defend his right to free speech. Cops ticketed him for warning traffic of the police speed trap

“Freedom of speech cannot be infringed upon,” said Daniel Gehlke, who made the handmade sign that reads, “Cops Ahead! Stop at sign and light!” on a plastic container lid.

“It’s not freedom of speech when it’s against the law,” the officer responds.

“I’m Officer Elliott. I’m a Seattle police officer and I’m letting you know now that’s against the law,” said an officer during the dealings that were captured on cell phone video that was uploaded to Gehlke’s personal Facebook profile and YouTube page.

When Gehlke asked about the specific law that he was breaking, the officer said he was defying city municipal code 11.50.560 which refers to, “forbidden signs and devices.”

The municipal code prohibits “any structure sign, light or device that…bears any such words as ‘danger’,’ stop’, ‘slow’, ‘turn’, ‘impound’, or similar words, figures or directions…”

Gehlke told KOMO News he is going to fight the $138 ticket and he believes the content of his sign, not the language he used, made him a target for the police.



It takes the cop 5 and a 1/2 minutes to write the ticket. He, or his fellow officers, felt it needed 3 more cops to make sure this was a safe thing to do

"An Austin, Texas, police officer has been suspended for 10 days for belittling a homeless woman in a incident captured on patrol car video. Senior Officer Mark Lytle was assigned to duty at a homeless shelter for 20 days when he returns. Chief Art Acevedo suspended Lytle on June 15, saying his demeanor and language were rude and unprofessional.

Police on Friday released video of the Dec. 18 incident under an overpass. The woman uses a wheelchair. Lytle is heard using vulgar language, tells her to leave and threatens her with jail.

Lytle was suspended for five days last fall after he joked about rape."

The video, which lasted nearly eight minutes, shows that Lytle used rude and deprecating language toward the woman and violated department policies while detaining her for violating a city camping ordinance.

Lytle is the same officer whose recorded conversations went viral six months ago, embarrassing APD. In the recording, Lytle joked about ignoring crimes and said that nobody could "un-rape" a woman.

It's unclear what warrants were issued against the woman. Police discovered Lytle's conduct after a member of the public recently asked for the video.

In addition to his unpaid suspension, APD reassigned Lytle to the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless in downtown Austin for 20 days.

Ironically, Irwindale Speedway (as well as other smaller drag strips) are all closing down in favor of outlet malls. Leave your parking space cleaner than how you found it. Piss off the police who come looking to ticket you for littering.  The city is ready to sue and the businesses are amped up. It costs them money to clean up the mess, and when it costs them, and they can't profit from it, they freak out. What's going to be the most telling tomorrow is how you leave the area. Clean, or trashed.

If in the morning they find a clean parking lot, I'm sure they'll be way less hostile and standoffish next time. Tonight it looks like this is national news, front and center. Google's real-time traffic app Waze is being criticized by some law enforcement officials who say its police-spotting feature could endanger officers. Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck is among the critics.

Beck said Tuesday the app could be used by criminals to target police or to evade officers.

A secretive cellphone spy device known as StingRay, intended to fight terrorism, was used in far more routine LAPD criminal investigations 21 times in a four-month period during 2012, apparently without the courts' knowledge that the technology probes the lives of non-suspects who happen to be in the same neighborhood as suspected terrorists.

According to records released to the First Amendment Coalition under the California Public Records Act, StingRay, which allows police to track mobile phones in real time, was tapped for more than 13 percent of the 155 "cellular phone investigation cases" that Los Angeles police conducted between June and September last year.

As L.A. Weekly first reported in September, LAPD purchased StingRay technology sometime around 2006 with federal Department of Homeland Security funds.

The portable StingRay device impersonates a cellphone tower, electronically fooling all nearby mobile phones — not just the suspect's phone — to send their signals into an LAPD computer. That signal reveals to police the location of phones in real time.

But the technology sucks up the data of every cellphone in the area, and these innocent phone owners never know police are grabbing their information.

Henry Solis, 27, was arrested Tuesday May 26th in Ciudad Juarez, just across the border from El Paso, Texas, and turned over to the FBI and U.S. Marshals on a murder warrant and was brought to California from Texas on Thursday and booked into jail in Pomona, California.

Henry Solis worked in the Devonshire Division of the San Fernando Valley, where he rode with a training officer.

 The FBI said Solis is a veteran of the Marines aircraft maintenance technician and security guard. Marine Corps records say Solis served in Iraq from April to November 2007.

Officer Michael Brelo stood on top of a car and fired fifteen shots down at his victims (of the 49 shots he fired in total). He was acquitted. Wonderful... shooting unarmed people, one which wasn't driving the car, isn't breaking the police procedure (each had 20 bullet holes in them of 137 shots fired from 13 cops)

An exhaustive search was conducted along the route of the pursuit, including the use of a dive team to look in bodies of water, but no gun was ever found.
